Applications Open for 15th Annual Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project

Applications are now open for the 15th annual Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project, a partnership between the Johnny Mercer Foundation and the American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University.

This week-long intensive program for emerging songwriters in all genres between the ages of 18 and 30 is held annually each June on the Evanston campus of Northwestern University. The highly competitive program attracts applicants from around the world and invites 12 songwriters or songwriting teams to spend a week in residence working with award-winning professional master teachers. This year, the project will be held from June 21-27, 2020, culminating with the Songwriters in Concert event on Saturday, June 27.

The program honors the legacy of Johnny Mercer by fostering the tradition of mentorship that Johnny was committed to throughout his career.

Thanks to the generosity of the Johnny Mercer Foundation, the program is free of charge to invited participants, on-campus housing is provided, and a stipend is available to help cover travel & living expenses. Applications are due on March 1, 2020.
