Joriah Kwamé, a participant in the 2020 Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project, has been named the winner of the ASCAP Foundation Cole Porter Award! This award is given to someone who has participated in the ASCAP Foundation Musical Theatre Workshop, who writes music and lyrics, and whose work shows promise.
Joriah has worked on several musicals, including most recently Little Miss Perfect. In fact, he won the 2019 “Write Out Loud” competition hosted by Taylor Louderman, the prize for which was having his original song “Little Miss Perfect” recorded by Louderman. You can find out more about his work on his website.
Joriah participated in the 2020 Johnny Mercer Foundation Songwriters Project, which was held virtually due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. You can watch the finale concert from that program on YouTube.
